If you would STORM MY SENATOR'S office now, I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!

We have gotten almost nowhere after three days of trying to figure this out.

We are at the end of our ropes & were wondering how many of you could STORM our Senator's office for us-especially if you live in CO, & especially if you read this before their offices open in the morning-I'm assuming around 8 am.

I am writing on behalf of constituents of yours: David & Kimberly Dillon.They are in the process of adopting from Guatemala and have tried all day yesterday to contact the US Embassy in Guatemala to find out if their Visa Cable 37 made it there.

No one returned any phone calls or e-mails.

The I 171 H was supposed to be sent via the National Visa Center several months ago, but was apparently never sent to the NVC by the USCIS office in Denver.

Could you please contact the US Embassy in Guatemala to make sure this form made it there, and that they will be issued a pink appointment as soon as possible, especially due to the hassle created by the USCIS office not doing what they should have?

It won't hurt to contact your own senator's office re. this as well-especially if you live in KS. Aparently, those Senator's got to bat for Guatemalan adoptions!!!!

The Update From Yesterday

Well, today, I spent all day in the car.

First, I took off for the local office of my Congressman.

They took all our info about our case & said they would try to get something accomplished today.

I'm sorry, but at this point, I wasn't satisfied w/ merely TRYING to get SOMETHING accomplished!

After we finished there, I loaded the girls up for a trip to Denver to our Senator's office.

At that office, w/ some phone calls placed by them, I was able to get accurate info on what was going on.

At the same time, our case worker there in Denver was able to get the Immigration office to send what they should have sent months ago-to the National Visa Center.

The NVC assures me that they now have it, & will fax it on to Guatemala first thing tomorrow.

All in all, our case worker thinks it should only set us back by a few days at the most, which is not bad considering that it is the US IMMIGRATION OFFICE'S mistake & it could have taken at least 2 weeks to fix.

If you are up & reading this tonight or early tomorrow, could you pray that the NVC will make this a priority tomorrow?

Way too complicated to go into here.

US Embassy does not have a record of our request for a visa.

We are trying to now get our Senator/Congress involved, as we have this exact paper w/ the Visa approval on it.

PLEASE PRAY THAT WE CAN COMMUNICATE THE URGENCY TO OUR SENATORS!!!!

I Never Thought A Room Switch Would.......

Make the mommy in me a bit sad.

But, it has.

It seems like the end of an era.

Since Ana was born, her room’s been one door down, or right across the hall from us

Thursday night, without fanfare, the girls slept in their new “pretty room” as Ruth calls it in her barely understandable babble.

It was the w/ out fanfare part that was hard for me. I wanted to make a big deal of it, because it seemed HUGE to me!!!

But, I know my oldest daughter. She is emotional. Yes, at 6 years old. This usually is a good thing, as she is also VERY sensitive to others’ needs.

As another example, just s few days ago, she started crying out of the blue. When I asked her what was wrong, she sobbed out, “I’m crying because I miss Great-Grandpa.” He died in Jan. of ’05. She was 4. She BARELY remembers him.

This type of thing happens on a daily basis in our house. She just FEELS things. It is such a wonderful trait, because……..well, it will be something the Lord can USE in her life down the road. And He already has.

Sorry for that little rabbit trail, but, knowing my daughter like I do, I decided not to point out to her that Wednesday night had been her last night in her room.. I wanted it to be a big deal, but w/ her sensitive nature, (made even more sensitive by the fact that she misses her daddy horribly), I knew she could easily
fill a bucket w/ tears!

So, ..........my mamma heart knew that if I made a big deal out of it, she would cry, & often, her tears make me want to cry.......& there we would have been-a big, blubbering mess, while poor little Ruthie looked on in confusion!!!!!!

Seems like every trait that is a good characteristic, can either be used for good, or if we are not taught to use it properly, it can be a huge detriment to us.


Do you see your kids developing traits the Lord can use?

How do you channel these character traits for good?

A Big Announcement!!!

Noah Eugene Harvey was born at 4 am this morning!!!

The proud parents? My brother, Jeremiah & his wife-my dear sister-in-law, Heather!

I am an Auntie for the 8th time!!!

These flowers bloom in abundance every couple of months. The azalea plant was given to us by my brother & his wife when we lost our baby at 16 & 1/2 weeks pregnant in 2004. Every time it blooms, it reminds me that life goes on & there is hope for the future. At the moment, there are at least 20 blooms on the plant.

Yeah, Grandmother!!!! I found these dresses for the girls to wear to the US Embassy appointment.

However, it challenged all my shopping skills to find something for Nathaniel.

I came home w/ an adorable pair of jeans overalls, but it just didn't seem dressy enough for such an important day.

Grandmother (Dave's mom) saved the day!!!!!

When I opened the Valentine's Day box, the outfit above was peaking out from the wrapping!!
