Yeah, I know this is Friday, but yesterday was CRAZY busy at our house!

This hymn was sung at our wedding by Wendy.

The words still "get me" every time, & almost bring me to tears.

Long Overdue, I Know......

For Those of You Who Know What This Means.....

We are PINK!!!!

If you need a little refresher course on Guatemalan Adoptions, this is the NEWS we have waited for since finding out we were out of PGN! (Used to be issued on a PINK slip of paper-thus the name)


We are to be in GT on February 26th for our visa appointment at 7:15 in the morning.


We will get our visa the following afternoon, & can come home w/ Nathaniel at any point after that.


We will keep you posted on our Dates/Times of travel & who is going. Dave most likely will still not be home, so Shannon or my mom will probably go w/ me & the kids.


(also, since my B-day is the 21st, we are considering heading down early-for a b-day present for me!)

Yet Another Small UPDATE:

My phone rang before 8 am this morning.

It was the lady who handles the prayer requests for our congressman’s campaign. This is the same congressman’s office who was FINALLY able to get somewhere on our case yesterday.


She was calling because I had e-mailed her several days ago, when I was grasping at anything I could find.


She wanted to know about any updates I had, as well as what EXACTLY was going on.


She then stated that she wanted to be kept up to date & is going to take our situation DIRECTLY to the congressman today. She was headed out the door to a fundraiser or some such thing.

To make this situation even better (I hope), my parents are old friends of our congressman. She took down my parents’ names & my name & she is going to speak to him directly about it today.

Thank-you, Lord!!!!

Still on Hold (w/ everything, it seems)

I spent all day trying to get through to the US Embassy in GT. I also tried to see if my Senator's office would help me. My contact there (who's e-mail I had hoped to flood) only told me not to hyperventilate!!! I was NOT impressed! She also told me she would try to get through to the US Embassy through her contacts. I never heard back from her.

So, after waiting on her for an hour or so, I called another Senator's office, and although the guy who answered the phone there really tried to help me, he couldn't get much accomplished so late in the day.


Also, on the phone w/ the US Embassy, they told me the Embassy closes at noon on Friday, which I had forgotten about.

Then, a few hours later, our Congressman's office called back & FINALLY I got info. My contact there said that:

-He had gotten hold of his contact at the US Embassy, who told him there was no record of our Visa getting there from the NVC.

-He then called the NVC & told them to re-send it via e-mail to the US Embassy in GT.

-Finally, he called the US Embassy & told them to refresh their e-mail, because it should be there. Then he sent them an e-mail stating the same thing, w/ the words "congressional inquiry" in the subject line.

So, they should have it, & we better hear something Monday!!!!

(I appoligize if this doesn't make sense to everyone-I'm extreemly tired & not thinking too clearly)

To actually HELP us on our adoption!!!!!

If you would STORM MY SENATOR'S office now, I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!

We have gotten almost nowhere after three days of trying to figure this out.

We are at the end of our ropes & were wondering how many of you could STORM our Senator's office for us-especially if you live in CO, & especially if you read this before their offices open in the morning-I'm assuming around 8 am.

Then copy & paste this message:

I am writing on behalf of constituents of yours: David & Kimberly Dillon.They are in the process of adopting from Guatemala and have tried all day yesterday to contact the US Embassy in Guatemala to find out if their Visa Cable 37 made it there.

No one returned any phone calls or e-mails.

The I 171 H was supposed to be sent via the National Visa Center several months ago, but was apparently never sent to the NVC by the USCIS office in Denver.

Could you please contact the US Embassy in Guatemala to make sure this form made it there, and that they will be issued a pink appointment as soon as possible, especially due to the hassle created by the USCIS office not doing what they should have?

It won't hurt to contact your own senator's office re. this as well-especially if you live in KS. Aparently, those Senator's got to bat for Guatemalan adoptions!!!!
