Consistancy only happened for the first week or so-then life got in the way!Do you try & teach your really little kids any chores?
Or should I just give up for now!

I don't have Liliana do any chores. She is responsible for cleaning up her toys and clearing her plate after meals. I certainly haven't given them anything to do that I would have o re-do after (due to my perfectionist tendencies). Hope you figure out what works for u. :)
I try to make my 3-year-old clean up her toys but she will sometimes just refuse. I hate it because I feel like my oldest daughter has had to grow up too fast. I make her do a lot around the house. She has recently started doing dishes and I am so loving that. I didn't make her do it, she just wanted to do it one day and she did and she did a good job, so she is my new dishwasher. LOL.
my 3 y.o. daughter does have chores, but quite simple ones: take off her coat and hang it on the hook in the laundry room when she gets home; take off shoes and put them neatly in the laundryroom when she gets home. if she strews toys around the family room she's (((supposed to))) pick them all up and put them in the toy box before ned time. does not always happen. she has to keep her bathroom clean -- towels go back on the towel holders when she is done wiping her hands. She has helped set the table when I get out all the utensils and napkins and plates and cups. but that's not a regular chore, she sees it as fun. we do require her to keep her bedrrom and playroom clean, but don't do a good job enforcing that. about once every two weeks, i will help her clean up the toys in both those rooms (i.e. sometimes that means I will do it while she watches me, since she gets distracted by the toys she's supposed to be cleaning up). she does put away all her dirty clothes into the hamper or the laundry room, but I direct her each time. not something she does naturally as a habit yet. she does like to wipe down the table after meals. mostly "helping" mommy.
