"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

"Memories"

When I saw the topic for this week’s FFF……
of course my mind went a hundred different directions
(well, no-mostly to when each of my kids were added to the family-
those times make such an impression on you!)

But……then I thought I might need to go in a slightly different direction………
& make myself laugh.

I need to laugh-often & hard-know what I mean?

So here are a few funny memories……from my early blogging days-
before I was participating in FFF.l

Hope they make you laugh as much as they do me:

Ana’s Impression of Work
(& her attitude is much improved now! HeeHeee!)
(Geeez!!! How DO I keep up with this child!?!?)

Ana “Helps” Mama
(& no, it wasn't very helpful, lol!)

Anyway, thanks, Sarah, for helping me take a walk down memory lane!

Hi, we lived there from 2003 to 2007. Can you recall historic Bishop Quayle's house across from the high school on the way out to Lawrence. Well the house behind also a 100 year old house that he built for his daughter is our house. We are renting it trying to hold off to sell....

Those years there were some of the best, I wish we could go back. I had never lived in the country before. I grew up in Guatemala city as busy, crowded, etc as it can get it amazing to live there!

Good Gracious! HOW have you survived!?!? LOL (Though I do agree with Ana that a servant would be nice sometimes! And perhaps you need one to do her chores for her after that bleach episode! LOL That, with your other sweet daughter, leaves for not a moment of quiet at your house, I would guess?

P.S. I just started "following" you today, but I declare I thought I did before, so I will check and make sure it "took" this time! LOVE your stories!!

Please ask or comment all the time!
We move to KS to be close to my in laws who live in Bonner Springs.

We moved to the US because Alex our son was going to start High School and we wanted him to finish HS in the US. We literally went town shopping and the minute we drove into Baldwin we knew that was it. Like I said, I fell in love with country living, small town life style, etc. Baldwin is so charming an unique because of Baker being there. I loved the proximity to Lawrence, we thought we are close to Lawrence but we are not in it since it felt too liberal to us, and now we live in Boulder County!

We are now considering moving back to Guatemala, its in God's hands what lies ahead of us.

I never knew how liberal Lawrence was until I moved away, lol!

But I love Baldwin, too. It is a charming little town. I wish my brother & sister in law still lived there.

Oh, yes.....absolute Jayhawk fans around here!!! It's hilarious to hear our 22 month old try to say it!

Your husband went to the Academy? This is CRAZY....because so did mine!!!

WOW!!!

Your husband looks younger though. Tom will celebrate his 25th next year. He is Class of 85 'Best Alive' (or something like that). Is your husband still active?

Kim & Dave said...

No, my hubby isn't active anymore, but he works as a contractor for the Army.

I'm assuming yours isn't either, if you can choose where you're living! :)

My hubby graduated in 1996-but I have no idea what his little saying is. I'm sure he remembers, though! They never forget stuff like that!

I never know how to have a "conversation on a blog" either, so I just spatrted putting my reponses on both blogs. Kinda like what you're doing.

I just wanted to say, also.....my hubby & I have fallen in love with everything Guatemalan. We would love to go back, but right now it just isn't possible. Would you mind praying with me that we can start heading back on a more consistant basis?

Menewhile, though, your blog is a wonderful glimpse into Guatemalan culture & traditions & I'm so glad you found me in bloggerland!
