"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

Thursdays Before the Throne

I was reading in Jeremiah 31 the other day……
& came across a section of the chapter I had underlined when we lost our baby in 2004.

15Thus says the Lord:
A voice is heard in Ramah,
lamentation and bitter weeping.
Rachel is weeping for her children;
she refuses to be comforted for her children,
because they are no more.

16Thus says the Lord:
Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears,
for your work shall be rewarded,
says the Lord; ………..

17And there is hope for your future,
says the Lord;
your children shall come back to their own country.

We named the baby we lost in 2004,
Jesse Ramah.
“Gift from a High Place.”

We took the middle name from this passage.

Interesting, though, I had underlined v. 17, too.

Long before we knew we would adopt.
Long before Ruthie was born.
Long before our hearts were drawn to a foreign country.
Long before we knew of our other children.

I mean……I had marked the actual words,
“Your children shall come……to their own country.”

I nearly got chills down my spine when I saw that in my Bible.

What an amazing God I have the privilege to know!

Do you know Him as well?

1 John 5:11-13
11 And this is what God has testified:
He has given us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son.
12 Whoever has the Son has life;
whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.
13 I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God,
so that you may know you have eternal life.

Amazing...it is so comforting to know that God has the big picture for our lives!!

We have really seen God's provision in our family too.

Just got to keep on trusting Him!

Thanks for sharing,

I'm a little late on my comments...but I wanted to say that I appreciated your thoughts.

I too have thought many times what my life would be like if I had gotten what I thought was best for my life instead of what God had in store for me. Even through tough times when it was hard to see His hand in all things, I see now that it was better than anything I could have ever dreamed. We have our firstborn son as a result of His plan not ours and I wouldn't trade him for ANYTHING.

That is so cool that the Lord gave you those verses. What a treasure! HE IS GOOD AND DOETH GOOD.
