"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

9̊-WInd Chill!!!!!

YES, I had to scrape the bottom of my mommy brain to come up with stuff to do!!!

9̊-but very little snow-while just a few miles north of here, they are literally swimming in snow!!!

Today we:

Slept in,
Did some school,
Watched some TV,
Colored with crayons.
& BEST of all-made Maple Syrup & Snow Candy.
(this is where I was scraping the bottom of my mommy brain!)

A few small mishaps later, we had a yummy treat, & just to make it count for school, we read the two chapters from “Little House in the Big Woods,” that describe the making of that old-fashioned candy!

“Grandma stood by the brass kettle and with the big wooden spoon, she poured hot syrup on each plate of snow. It cooled into soft candy, and as fast as it cooled, they ate it. They could eat all they wanted, for maple sugar never hurt anybody."

Brrr...that is just too cold!!! I have never been in temps that cold and would need very good heating to survive that!!:0

You did very well filling in your day and the kids looked very happy eating their syrup candy...looks super sweet which I'm sure they didn't mind one bit:)

Yummy!!!!! I'm going to try it!!!

I cant even imagine how cold that is! Not to rub it in but we are expected to be back in the mid
70's next week. We are a bunch of wimps down here!

For my photo editing I use Picaso and Flicker. It's easy for me to use since I'm not that good at computer stuff!
