"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

Thursdays Before the Throne

Proverbs 11:25
Don’t you just love it when you have only a bit of time, & you pick up a devotional, thinking, “Finally!!!! A bit of time to myself! Now, I can spend a tiny little bit of time in the Word,”

& what you read stops you up short:

The generous soul will be made rich,
And he who waters will also be watered himself.

This is so backwards of what we are taught today.
Question Mark

We are taught that by spending time to ourselves, we will feel refreshed.

Not according to this verse.

It seems to be saying to me that when I spend time on others, with my heart in the right place……I’ll be refreshed.
Ice Water

I have already had the Lord working on me in this area,
but this verse for today was no mistake, I don’t think.

What do you think, bloggging friends?

Can you think of other verses that go along w/ that idea?

Hi Kim,

What a great verse from Proverbs. To be outward, not inward looking and putting off our selfishness. It's the heart attitude that God wants for us so we can reach out to others and show them His love.
Thanks for sharing that verse.

Happy Easter to all of your family and especially with one gorgeous little man (aka Natty!!) How wonderful that he is home with you for Easter.

God Bless,
Anna
