"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

What Does it Mean to Wait Silently/Quietly?

Psalm 62:1
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation.

Lamentations 3:26
It is good that one should hope in and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

I realized this morning I needed a reminder in this area….

Sometimes, waiting silently & quietly has nothing to do w/ talking or keeping your mouth quiet.

The word for “silent” can also be translated “repose.”

The word “repose” in the dictionary means:

“peace, tranquility, calm, dignified calmness”

To me, this speaks to something much deeper than keeping my mouth shut…..

It’s about keeping my mind “quiet”….not allowing my mind to dwell on my day to day trials.

“dignified calmness”………….

Do I have it? Can I say (& mean it) that I have a calm attitude about our wait?

In all honesty, not all the time…..

One thing I have learned, is that I can set my timer for 5 min. intervals......find something that needs doing for only that amount of time & pray over what I am doing........the Lord calms my heart......

Wow ~ I note the sisterly resemblance . . .beautiful!

And waiting in faith: that is our Sabbath rest.

Stand firm. Do not be shaken.
