"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

Whiter than Snow.....is it possible???

Jenica’s recent post over at “Is Anyone Paying Attention?” about hymns revealed to me that I don’t know enough words to the old songs.

Looking out the morning window at the sparkly white ground, the chorus of this hymn came to mind, but I had to look up the other words. Here is the first verse & the chorus.

"Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole;
I want Thee forever to live in my soul;
Break down every idol, cast out every foe—
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Chorus:
Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow,
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."

This grand old hymn was written in 1872 by James Nicholson

At this season, when we remember Jesus’ birth, let us not forget that He arrived on the scene-only to die……for you & for me.

Yes, it is good to say….when He washes me, I am made whiter than snow….

The snacks look GREAT!! I really wish I could join you for some. And so true about the hymns. There is just something about an old hymn. I feel the same about some of the older Catholic hymns we sing even though I LOVE the new stuff cause it's so praising. BTW, I have a feeling that this week or next you'll be outta there. And if I don't get orange soon we will all be together in Guatemala. Praying for your answer to come soon!
