"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

Proof Positive!!!! (& a question)

Do people like me REALLY child-proof their houses?
I mean, it is not completely possible, is it, with two babies so close in age-
& a 7 year old that NEEDS to have access to some of her toys!
(like this rocking chair-for instance! ha!! ha!!)
Oh, my goodness!! I just realised!
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT A CHRISTMAS TREE?!?!?!?

Yeah...so happy it works...I would've missed those adorable faces. And I am a pretty childproofed house. Anything that Toby wants that Lili can't have, he has to wait until her nap time to play with. And all my art supples are in a rolling tupperware cart in my closet where they have to ask. And I still find things in Lili's mouth that shouldn't be there. lol

We put our play yard around our Christmas tree last year and will be doing it again this year! With two two year olds, it's the only way!

Here's an idea that worked for my sister and her trouble was not toddlers but a CAT that decided to have a hay day with the tree bigtime. Throwing himself at the tree knocking the whole bloomin fully decorated tree completely over...they wire it now from two stratigic points on the tree to points at the wall or a sturdy furniture object...has never come down since. As to those wonderful curious little hands....let them touch, nothing like finding your ornaments rearranged...my grandson did this daily. I was irritated at first but it turned into an adventure to see where he moved ornaments day to day...was fun and if you teach them to be gentle they actually will and let them help you decorate, too!
Signed the experience of a Grandma!
P.S. Kim - what do you know about the blog site " Pioneer Woman "? I've been following her blog - she'a hoot.....do you or anyone out there know if she is a Believer? No indication whatsoever on her blog other than they do go to church.
