"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

Favorite Foto Friday

This week’s theme at “Kiss The Frog 4 Me” is “Mommy & Me,” in honor of “Mother’s Day” Sunday.

What fun!! Run over to her blog & see all the other cuties!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I worked in daycare & schools before getting married, but there were still…….
Things I DIDN’T realize about motherhood before becoming a mom:
Like:
~it doesn’t matter if your daughter wears the same clothes for three days in a row, because “I just LOVE that dress Mommy!”
~in the same vein…. it doesn’t always have to match what’s in their hair (especially if said daughter chose the combination!) Shocking, I know…..
~your vehicles will spend 98% of their time in some sort of disarray (the other 2% is only the amount of time it takes to drive home from the car wash-with no children in tow)
~you worry that that “special” toy/artwork/or piece of “jewelry” that you just threw away will somehow be discovered before you can get it to the curb…..but even worse….you rush to the trash can & shove it down a bit further….(I know there are others of you out there!!!)
~you would willingly sit through hours of practice…..to be delighted by 5 short minutes of watching your daughter perform on stage w/ 15-20 other tutu clad dancers at the end of a very long year….
~that you could EVER, EVER, share a bed w/ three…..yes, three children.. (picture proof to follow!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BUT……most of all, I did not realize that MOTHERHOOD would change me……

I thought I would be only be molding them……but really, they have changed me…..

Into someone (hopefully) less selfish, more thoughtful, & more delighted with the small things…..& someone on my knees before my Father in Heaven-begging for wisdom each & every day. Yep, it’s true….I pray a whole lot more than I used to!!!!

How has motherhood changed you?
Motherhood of three begins!
*************************************
Where, though, would we (that is my dear hubby & I).......
Without our moms????
Here is my dear mother-in-law with.....
Ana
Ruth-yes, this is about the only way pics of this baby work-from the back!
Natty

*******************************
And then, my wonderful mom with:

Ana
Ruth-even as a baby, not looking at the camera!!!
Natty!
Thanks so much to both of you!
Because of you both, we are who we are today!!!

Oh.....& yes, one more thing-but perhaps one of the most important things.....
PLEASE PRAY for both our wonderful foster mom (& you have to scroll down on this post a bit), & our two Guatemaltecos Birth Mama.......I know it isn't Mother's Day there, but, now would be a good time to remember them both, wouldn't it?

Pray for peace for their hearts.....these two women.....whose "mother" hearts will always be in-twined with mine...

Hi Kim! Love your posts. Just thought you would like to know that tomorrow (Saturday) is actually Dia de las Madres in Guatemala. We have a Guatemalan calendar -- so we will say extra prayers tomorrow for the birth mothers and foster mothers in Guatemala. Take care and Happy Mothers Day!

I knew it was close to our Mother's Day, but wasn't real sure when it was.....

Happy Mother's Day to you!

You're welcome (and you're welcome, Ana) for the thank-you card that arrived in today's mail.

But Ana's thanking me for the $10 bill I sent? I thought I only sent $7 -- but still, that's a pretty decent portrait of Alexander Hamilton she drew.

Yeah, Brad....she got a lot of money gifts....& probably got them mixed up-silly girl...

I'll tell her you said so!
