"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

Happiness/Joy……is Not a Choice, Right?

Or is it????

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Proverbs 23:7a

Commit your works to the LORD,

And your thoughts will be established.

Proverbs 16:3

How we think dictates how we are.

Where our work is dedicated dictates our thoughts.

Sounds to me like it might actually be a choice.

Have you found this to be true??

I have.

The power of suggestion.

The mind is a funny thing, I think.

If I pray over my day, & my dealings w/ people & situations……

I am more likely to be content in my mind…….

& I am more likely to be content in my actions.

If I forget to commit my day to the Lord, & I think “I am so grumpy!”

Guess what happens?!?!?

Big surprise-I am grumpy!!!

Self-fulfilling prophesy…..perhaps

But, if I tell myself, "I choose Joy/Happiness," what do you think will happen?

Kim,
Am feeling worried about Andrea and her friends right now!! Just read Amy's comment on Andrea's blog. I really am praying she and her friends are ok!!! How awful for them all when it was supposed to be such a fun getaway for them.

Thanks Kim for your comment on my blog...really appreciate you letting me know that update as I'm not on Sonlight forums. I did read an update too from Amy on Andrea's latest post which said some similar things too. Really am so relieved and thankful to God that she and her friends are ok as from looking at some of the media videos online it looked really bad. It's a miracle that she and the other girls are ok!!
Hope you can get some sleep tonight!
Thanks so much for the update,
Anna

Kim... glad you found me and I look forward to having you post for FFF (Favorite Foto Friday)... it is just a day when you can post your FFF of the week. I have started a theme each week, but it does not have to be followed, it just adds a little challenge of fun in there if you want to join along. When you have posted a FFF on your blog, leave a comment on mine and I will link you with the other FFF bloggers and people can click on your blog to see your post.

Thanks for posting about the Chicago tragedy... I had not even heard about it. My prayers are with all those involved!
