"Common Ground": my little corner of the blogosphere where I talk (a lot-wink) about the things that matter most to me: My relationship with my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, homeschooling, adoption, homemaking, parenting, "spousing." (yeah, yeah....I know that's not a word.....I made it up-it’s my blog-I can do things like that! Ha!)

Since my life isn’t all that different from yours, hopefully we can find some COMMON GROUND & learn from each other. Please share your thoughts!

Through the Lords’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!

Thursdays Before the Throne........

Behind this cloud, hides Pike's Peak.

Every time I see it is hidden,

I think of the devotional written by Oswald Chambers, "My Utmost For His Highest,"
for July 29th.
In the Bible clouds are always associated with God. Clouds are the sorrows, sufferings, or providential circumstances, within or without our personal lives, which actually seem to contradict the sovereignty of God. Yet it is through these very clouds that the Spirit of God is teaching us how to walk by faith. If there were never any clouds in our lives, we would have no faith. "The clouds are the dust of His feet" ( Nahum 1:3 ). They are a sign that God is there. What a revelation it is to know that sorrow, bereavement, and suffering are actually the clouds that come along with God! God cannot come near us without clouds— He does not come in clear-shining brightness.

It is not true to say that God wants to teach us something in our trials. Through every cloud He brings our way, He wants us to unlearn something. His purpose in using the cloud is to simplify our beliefs until our relationship with Him is exactly like that of a child— a relationship simply between God and our own souls, and where other people are but shadows. Until other people become shadows to us, clouds and darkness will be ours every once in a while. Is our relationship with God becoming more simple than it has ever been?

There is a connection between the strange providential circumstances allowed by God and what we know of Him, and we have to learn to interpret the mysteries of life in the light of our knowledge of God. Until we can come face to face with the deepest, darkest fact of life without damaging our view of God’s character, we do not yet know Him.
". . . they were fearful as they entered the cloud" (Luke 9:34). Is there anyone except Jesus in your cloud? If so, it will only get darker until you get to the place where there is "no one anymore, but only Jesus . . ." (Mark 9:8 ; also see Mark 2-7 ).
Do you see Jesus in your clouds, the times of uncertainty in life?

Ok, I know this is really Friday,

& I have been up WAY TOO LATE!!!

Z's Are Calling (time For Bed) (zzzz's are calling)

(By the way, these pics were taken at Garden of the Gods this afternoon on my cell phone camera!)

Hi Kim,
Thank you for the devotional.
I have been spending some time online with a young lady who is experiencing "dark clouds", and this gave me a little more insight in helping her.
Anyway, I wandered if you would like to look over some interesting nutrition stuff. Steve and I are in the beginning stages of the WAPF way of eating, and thought I thought you might find some helpful things for yourself, and for Natty.

and Nourishing traditions, by Sally Fallon
Nutrient dense foods, along with stearing clear of anything soy has already made a noticeable difference for both of us. We also are eliminating all processed foods from our diet.
This is not a fad diet. Its going back to how people ate centuries ago.
Check out the Cheese Slave link in our blog. She has a little one that is eating a fully non processed diet that includes a raw milk formula.
A while back I gave the stats on how many people get sick from pasturized milk, versus the total lack of illness from raw milk.
Interesting stuff.
email me if you want more info.

One more thing,
I remember someone saying that Heather and Jeremiah's oldest has Autism. If I am wrong, just disregard the following.
Read through my post on Vitamin A, Cod Liver Oil and Autism.
If you feel this would be helpful for them, pass it on.
There is a mountain of research on that backs up what is written there.
I know of an adult right now, that is making the dietary changes, and is already seeing results in just a few days time.
Here are a couple of sites that are very informative.
www.healingautism.com
and also the book by Jenny McCarthy, Louser than Words.

Actually, Paula, L. has Asbergers, which is on the Autism spectrum.

They have had him on a GFCF (Gluten-Free, Casian-Free) diet, & that has done wonders for them.

He also has Celiac, so that is the primary reason he went on the diet in the frist place.

I'm not sure what all else she's done, but maybe she would add if she reads this!

Thanks, Paula!!

THe young lady that I refered to has Aspergers as well.
She is taking the cod liver oil, Vit. A, and doing a complete yeast and metals cleanse.
Celiacs, is often releaved through full yeast cleansing and eating lots of fresh fermented foods.
Kefir, a fermented milk that no longer has lactose in it and Kombucha added to the diet have done wonders for those with Celiacs as well.

Paula-is your dad on the Casain Free diet as well as the GF diet?

Just curious.

Thanks for all the info. :-)

He eats only meat, veges, fruit, rice and flax.
Because of his liver failing, he has an extremly hard time digesting anything.
They are coming up here on the
1st, and I am going to get him started on bone broths and Kombucha, both of which will help him digest food better.
Once he gets his transplant, things will be much better.
He cannot have dairy due to the lactose, but he is going to try Kefir, which has zero lactose in it. The fermentation process the milk goes through with the kefir grains, eliminates all the lactose.
He loves Kombucha, but does not have a scoby to start his own, so I will give him one when they head back to Kansas.
Well, I think I have left you with a jumble of things to read :o)
Off to go finish setting up for Passover.....

Interesting, Paula.

I assume your dad is on a transplant list?

We have been praying for the family, & will continue to!

Not yet. His "levels" are not quite there. Soon though.
The average wait once a person is on it, is 2 to 3 months.

The other thing that realy helps Celiacs, is to do a full body yeast cleanse. This actually causes the body to heal the damages done by the gluten.

You got to read something that is an eye opener.
Go to the Clothes Line Alley blog, and open up the link on the left called the politics of infant feeding. and then read the link for the nestle boycott.
Needless to say, after verifying what I read, we are boycotting everything made by Nestle.
They will not recieve a penny of my money.
